Ice Cream Social
In addition to the focused and intensive jazz study that defines and characterizes the SJW workshop program, Jazz Camp participants, faculty, and staff have ample opportunity for fun. Here, SJW staffer Cynthia Sleight (Production Assistant and "Office Mom") and faculty member, drummer Ndugu Chancler, put on their mid-afternoon dancing shoes, showing off their moves and shaking their groove thing at the weekly "James Brown" ice-cream social. An appreciative crowd, including faculty members Taylor Eigsti, Julian Lage, Joe Gilman and Ambrose Akinmusire, look on, while the infectious rhythms inspire other students and even trombonist and faculty member Wycliffe Gordon to join in!
