“...a thoughtful and entertaining player
who builds to exciting climaxes of cascading notes in the manner of
Erroll Garner” – The New York Sun
Victor Lin is an exciting young musician with an arsenal of talents,
including an uncanny ear, multi-instrument virtuosity, and a seemingly
endless reserve of ideas and energy. On the piano he is both a sensitive
accompanist and a stellar improviser, and he plays some of the best jazz
violin around. He is also a dedicated teacher and
a perennial favorite among students at the Stanford Jazz Workshop. Victor
studied with piano innovator Kenny Barron at Rutgers University, and
is now a doctoral student in music and music education at Columbia University.
When he’s not studying he gigs with his own trio and various other
ensembles in and around New York. Victor’s unique blend of communication,
showmanship, and wit always brings down the house at his Stanford performances.
