Stanford Jazz Workshop (SJW) programs provide opportunities to study and play with many of the top artists working in jazz today. They offer participants an opportunity to experience jazz in all its forms, enjoy the exceptional environment of the Stanford University campus, and attend Stanford Jazz Festival concerts showcasing the all-star resident faculty in action.

Stanford Jazz Workshop offers a range of jazz education programs for instrumentalists, vocalist, educators, listeners, ages 12 and up, and include:

JAZZ CAMP
Week One: July 20 – 25, 2008
Week Two: July 27 – August 1, 2008
Designed for participants ages 12 – 17, playing jazz at beginning to advanced levels.

JAZZ RESIDENCY
August 3 – 8, 2008
Designed for adult musicians playing jazz at beginning to advanced levels, emerging professionals and music educators. Open to advanced participants under 18 by audition.
* K–12 educators and junior college faculty may earn graduate-level professional growth units.

EVENING SUMMER PROGRAM
June 18 - July 16, 2008
Designed for musicians aged 12 and up playing jazz at beginning to advanced levels
The Evening Summer Program offers musicians a chance to develop their skills in a five-week series of classes held on Wednesday evenings. Classes are taught by some of the Bay Area's top jazz artists and educators.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
SJW can offer a wide variety of services for individuals and groups in your local area. These services include: private coaching, workshops, booking services, school visits, jazz event consulting and jazz program coordination. To learn more about these services, please contact us at 650.736.0324.

REGISTRATION
Registration for the 2008 Jazz Camp and Jazz Residency will open in mid-December. Registration forms will also be posted online as pdf's for those who wish to apply by mail or fax.
